Bosch Rexroth x Microclimates: Building Open Infrastructure Together

Bosch Rexroth and Microclimates Inc. have come together to deploy a first-of-its-kind open architecture environmental automation platform, with the first launch completed at Freeman Herbs. In this interview, both companies discuss their shared philosophy around open systems and freedom of choice — empowering growers to integrate technologies from multiple vendors without being locked into a single hardware ecosystem. The deployment combines the Microclimates EnvOS™ Environmental Operating System with the Bosch Rexroth ctrlX CORE X5 platform, creating a flexible, scalable solution that leverages Bosch Rexroth’s powerful data layer alongside Microclimates’ environmental applications. The result is a truly open architecture design that allows end users to unify climate control, monitoring, automation, and third-party technologies into one connected platform while running EnvOS™.
