Connecting a Monitoring Card to a Device

This procedure walks through connecting a monitoring card to a device card, verifying that sensor data is being received correctly, and calibrating monitoring values when needed.

Before You Get Started

Ensure your device card has been configured, validated, and is actively transmitting data.

If you have not completed device setup, refer to the Device Provisioning & Validation guide before continuing.

1. Filter Cards

Filter cards by Monitoring.

2. Add the Monitoring Card

Add the Soil Condition monitoring card.

3. Flip and Configure the Card

Flip the card using the Flip Icon.

3A. Review the Card

The front of the card displays the monitoring information.

Flip the card to access the configuration settings.

3B. Configure the Card

Enter a unique Name and a short Description.

Assign the card to the appropriate Zone.

Note: Use a unique name for each monitoring card to ensure accurate identification and reporting within EnvOS.

4. Select Units of Measure

Select the preferred Units of Measure for the monitoring card.

These units will be used throughout the interface for day-to-day monitoring and operation.

5. Connect the Monitoring Card

Click + Add a soil sensor below the Units of Measure section.

A pop-up window will appear.

5A. Name the Sensor

Enter or modify the sensor Name.

5B. Select the Sensor Card

Under Sensor Card, click the dropdown arrow and select Soil Moisture Sensor.

6. Choose the Device Card

Select the appropriate device card to establish the connection between the monitoring card and the device card.

Note: Make sure you select the device card associated with the physical sensor you are connecting.

7. Connect Sensor Measurements

Select the measurements provided by the connected soil sensor.

Not all soil sensors measure every parameter. Only select the measurements supported by the connected device.

7A. Connect Soil Temperature

Select the appropriate sensor input for Soil Temperature.

7B. Connect Soil EC

Select the appropriate sensor input for Soil EC.

7C. Connect Soil Moisture

Select the appropriate sensor input for Soil Moisture.

Note: Only connect measurements that are supported by the purchased sensor.

8. Save the Configuration

Once all applicable sensor measurements have been selected, click Save in the sensor configuration pop-up.

Then click Save on the monitoring card to finalize the configuration.

You have now connected the Soil Condition Monitoring Card to the device card.

Repeat this process for any additional monitoring cards.
